Walking Through a Completed Project
Jennings Concrete installs sidewalks for commercial and site development projects in the tri-county area. Our work ranges from long runs across larger developments to shorter sections connecting parking areas, building entrances, pedestrian ramps and other parts of the site.
Sidewalks are often thought of as the simple part of the concrete package, but their location, grade and connections affect how people move through the completed property. We build from the project plans so those transitions are accounted for.
Where reinforcement is called for, Jennings furnishes and installs it. Depending on the project, our scope can also include subgrade or base preparation.
Sidewalk Finish Options
Jennings offers several sidewalk finish options, including:
- Broom finish
- Picture frame finish
- Rock salt finish
The finish is based on the project plans and specifications. Whether the project calls for broom, picture frame or rock salt, we account for the finish during estimating and install it accordingly.
Sidewalks Within the Larger Sitework Package
Sidewalks connect different parts of a site, so they have to work with the concrete and paving around them. Jennings coordinates our work with curb and gutter, parking areas, building entrances and pedestrian ramps so elevations and transitions come together as shown in the plans.
We also work with the project schedule so sidewalk placement happens when the surrounding areas are ready, reducing conflicts with other sitework and avoiding unnecessary rework.
