9016 Palmetto Commerce Parkway Expansion
Description
Jennings Concrete was awarded the site concrete package for the expansion at 9016 Palmetto Commerce Parkway. The scope covered concrete around the new warehouse and related site improvements.
Jennings’ work was expected to take about six weeks.
Challenges and Unique Features
Trees and the new warehouse interfered with GPS coverage in parts of the site. Rather than letting unreliable satellite signal interrupt curb placement, Jennings set up two total stations to provide the machine guidance needed to continue the work.
Project Results
The total-station setup allowed curb placement to continue through areas where GPS coverage was unreliable. In total, the project included 3,380lf of curb, 150lf of flumes, 3,000sf of sidewalk and handicap ramp, 310sf of handicap parking pad, and 410lf of ribbon curb.
