Carnes Crossroads Residential Phase 17B
Description
Jennings Concrete was awarded the site concrete package for Carnes Crossroads Residential Phase 17B. This phase added a new townhome section to the development.
Jennings began pouring concrete in May 2025 and completed its work in early October.
Challenges and Unique Features
The project called for 2,940 linear feet of reinforced concrete valley gutter. Hand forming nearly that quantity would have required considerably more field time and labor.
Jennings already had a machine mold that matched the required valley-gutter profile. For this project, the crew modified the mold so four #4 reinforcing bars could feed through the front as the curb machine advanced.
That allowed nearly all of the valley gutter to be machine placed, with the majority of the work completed within a few days.
Project Results
Adapting the mold allowed Jennings to machine place a reinforced gutter profile that otherwise would have required extensive hand forming. The overall concrete scope was completed in early October within the planned schedule.
